Fatal Accident on Dumbarton Bridge

Bay City News — A fatal crash on the Dumbarton Bridge this afternoon has blocked two westbound lanes, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

A Sig-alert was issued for the lanes after the multi-vehicle crash happened around 3 p.m., CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.

One person has died in the crash, Van Eckhardt said. No other injuries have been reported.

Traffic has also backed up on the bridge's eastbound lanes as motorists slow to look at the crash, but all lanes heading toward the East Bay are open, Van Eckhardt said.
