Woman Arrested Twice Within Eight-Hour Period

A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into Santa Rita Jail when officers responded to a home on Blackburn Drive around 1:05 p.m. Friday. Police responded to the same home and arrested the same woman around 9:15 p.m. Saturday, but this time on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was booked again into Santa Rita Jail.

Man Flees From Rollover Crash

A 23-year-old Newark man was arrested after he fled from a solo-vehicle rollover traffic collision Monday night. Police said the crash occurred on Cedar Boulevard near and that the driver was later found at Motel 6 around 9:30 p.m. Monday. The man was arrested and cited on suspicion of drunken driving and hit and run.

Burglary and Theft

A 37-year-old Fremont man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft, providing authorities with a false name and violating parole after police were called to for a shoplifting report around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A minor was arrested and cited on suspicion of petty theft at the Store around 6 p.m. on Monday.

Drugs and Alcohol

A 36-year-old Newark woman and 42-year-old Fremont man were arrested and cited on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Wells Avenue and Walnut Street around 12:20 p.m. Saturday. During that stop, a 41-year-old Union City man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A 19-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of possession of more than one ounce of marijuana and a misdemeanor warrant during a traffic stop on Orleans Drive around 11:55 p.m. Friday. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 40-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance when officers reported to the 6200 block of Mayhews Landing Road to a report of a disturbance around 9:45 p.m. on Friday. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A 33-year-old San Jose woman was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and violating a court order after police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Motel 6 just before 9 a.m. Tuesday. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Fire Incidents

Alameda County firefighters extinguished a fire near Sunset Avenue and Locust Street around 5:45 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported. Authorities said Newark police assisted Alameda County Fire Department with the power transformer explosion and fire.
