Cops Arrest Suspected Auto Burglar
A car that had been reported stolen was spotted parked in a handicap spot in front of Round Table in Newark Square, with a suspect or suspects in it.
Here's a tip - if you're going to steal a car (which, of course, we don't suggest you do), don't draw attention to yourself by driving it around town and then parking it in a handicap spot!
Thanks to our vigilant readers, Newark Patch received a tip this afternoon about major police activity taking place in Newark Square at Thornton Avenue and Cedar, in front of the Round Table Pizza.
Commander Mike Carroll of the Newark Police Department said a vehicle that had previously been reported stolen was parked and occupied in the shopping center in a handicap spot.

A passing patrolman spotted the car in the handicap spot with no placard, and made contact with the person or persons sitting in the vehicle. A quick run of the plates tipped the officer off that the car was stolen.
Commander Carroll said the person or persons involved have been arrested.
