Check Cashing Center Robbed at Gunpoint

Police are investigating an armed robbery out of the California Check Cashing Store that happened Tuesday morning.

Police are searching a male suspect after an armed robbery Tuesday morning.

An employee reported that a male suspect approached the employee at gunpoint at the , 399958 Cedar Blvd. around 9:20 a.m., police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police are still investigating the incident and could only describe the suspect as a male with medium complexion wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Police said he is possibly Asian.

Tuesday's armed robbery comes three weeks after two Union City men were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after a Newark man said the two after a road rage incident.

Last July, a check cashing center on Jarvis Avenue that has since closed was , took cash and fled on foot.
