Anti-Abuse Advocate Arrested for Outstanding Child Abuse, Domestic Abuse Warrant

Police said the man was trying to raise money for abused children and women in front of a grocery store before his arrest.

An Oakland man wanted on suspicion of child abuse and domestic violence was arrested Friday after trying to raise money for abused children and women, police said.

Authorities were called to around 9:20 a.m. Friday after it was reported that the store’s manager was in a dispute with a solicitor, according to .

According to a Newark police statement, the manager noted that the solicitor was disturbing customers and that the solicitor began “lecturing officers about his rights” but was eventually arrested for his outstanding warrants related to child abuse and domestic violence and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
