Accused Killer of Osana Futi Scheduled To Face Jury Monday

Abraham Ibrahim Hade has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder in connection with the April 2012 stabbing that left Futi, a Newark Memorial High School student, dead.

Abraham Ibrahim Hade is scheduled to go on trial before a jury of his peers Monday for allegedly stabbing Newark teen Osana Futi to death in April 2012.

Alameda County Prosecutor Elgin Lowe said pretrial motions and jury selection should be finished by Friday.

Futi, an 18-year-old Newark Memorial High School student and football player, died at about 1:20 a.m. on April 29. That was about two hours after he was stabbed following a house party on the 4900 block of Hyde Park Drive, near Yellow Stone Park Drive in Fremont.

Hade, a Fremont resident, and three minors were arrested on April 29 in connection with the stabbing. Hade, now 19, was 18 at the time of his arrest.

The minors were described as a 16-year-old girl and two boys, ages 13 and 14, at the time of their arrests. Court officials have consistently refused to say more about the three teens because of rules that protect disclosure of information about minors.

During preliminary hearings that set the stage for Monday's scheduled trial, Fremont Police Department Detective Anthony Holguin testified that Futi died of a six-inch deep stab wound to his upper thigh that severed a major artery.

Holguin also noted that a minor who was arrested in connection with Futi’s killing told authorities that Hade had stabbed Futi and that Hade had texted his girlfriend the next day to say Futi "got what was coming."

Hade, who initially faced one count of murder with a gang enhancement, pleaded not guilty to that complaint on May 23.

The defendant is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail.

The trial is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Monday in Dept. 9 of the Rene C. Davidson Alameda County Courthouse in Oakland.

I remember as a teacher buying my own supplies. Looking back I don't regret buying anything andRead More realize that each person's teaching style is different. The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.

Don't like it at all. "Change" isn't always for the better.
