Trash Town

I posted a Blog on here back in May of this year talking about Newark's problem with people discarding their Trash on Newark Sidewalks & Streets.

As I rightfully presumed at the time, the issue has only grown, in some neighborhoods ten fold.

I used to spend two hours a night cleaning up the Trash of others on my Street, I was going out anyway and figured well hey since I'm out here I'll clean up.

After awhile I took it upon myself to go out at random and clean up the streets, because I didn't like the way it portrayed my Neighborhood.

After I posted my "White Trash Infiltrates Newark Streets" post, I  stopped caring about it like everyone else after a resident on my Street made a big deal about me cleaning up the area.

"I'll call the Newark Police Department on you!", I've never been one to back down so I told nosy rosy to go ahead and continued doing my thing.

Sure enough, she called. Unbeknownst to her, I had my Scanner with me as I always do in Public, tucked under my Jacket with a ear bud in my ear. She wished to remain "Anonymous" but referred to me as "Suspicious" for picking up sh!t off the street.

I don't know if anything ever came from it, I was out there an additional 30 minutes until the entire street was Pristine and not a single cop rolled up.

Still, this old hag knows I live on the street, she's seen me daily for years and yet thinks it's suspicious of me to clean up our neighborhood.

The next night, I was right back out there picking up more Trash and another Resident had an issue with me doing such.

This time it was explained to me that "This is the City's Job", "It's what we pay them to do" and that I just need to call em and they will come out "Eventually".

As I stood there speaking with this gentleman he takes out a pack of Marlboro Cigarettes,
retrieves his last cig, and drops the empty pack on the ground, then walks off!

That day was the last time I picked up crap on my street,

It's been a couple months since I picked up any of the Trash and guess what? It's only become a much bigger issue as nobody cares and everyone seems to love living in squalor conditions.

When is enough, enough?
