Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation Accepting Applications for 2014 Rutgers Academic Scholarships


Basking Ridge, N.J. (April TK, 2014) – Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation has opened the application period for the 2014 Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship.

The Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who will be attending Rutgers University, undergraduate students currently enrolled at Rutgers University, or undergraduate students transferring from another institution into Rutgers University. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. resident aliens, and members of Affinity in good standing.

The Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation Richard A. Romano Scholarship was established in honor of Richard A. Romano for his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication throughout his many years of volunteer service on the Affinity Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. 

Committed to strengthening the communities it serves, the Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation takes pride in helping members succeed with their educational goals. The scholarships will be awarded to members based on community involvement, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and a personal essay that best captures all of these activities and the qualities they spotlight in each applicant.

To access the Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship application and/or review the requirements, please visit the following link: https://www.affinityfcu.com/about-us/foundation/scholarship-programs.aspx#romano. Each completed application package must be submitted by June 14, 2014. Packages can be mailed or dropped off at any Affinity Federal Credit Union location. Affinity branches that are closest to Rutgers’ campuses are in Edison and Piscataway. To find the address of these, or any, Affinity branches please visit the branch locator on the website
