All Shook Up is a musical comedy built around a number of songs made
famous by Elvis Presley (though it's not a biographical revue). The
story is about mistaken identities, youthful rebellion and love (based
on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night). It takes place in 1955, somewhere in
Middle America, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a
mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town
to discover the magic of romance and the power or rock & roll. This
lively musical features such Presley classics as: "Jailhouse Rock",
"Heartbreak Hotel", "That’s All Right", "It’s Now or Never", "Love Me
Tender", “Blue Suede Shoes", "Don’t Be Cruel", "Can’t Help Falling In
Love", "All Shook Up" and many more.
The show runs Thursday,
Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm under the stars at Ohlone College's
Outdoor Amphitheatre through August 17th. (Aug. 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16,
17. Special ASL presentation on Aug. 9th).
