Washington Hospital Anniversary Celebration Promises to Be a Night to Remember
The Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation celebrates 25 years with its annual fundraising gala.
Ball gowns, black ties, dancing, and fine dining all at the...hospital?
Yes! On Oct. 8, the Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation will hold its , to raise money to support vital equipment, projects and programs for the Washington Township Health Care District. The celebration will be held at the hospital, located at 2500 Mowry Ave. in Fremont, and runs from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Each year, the foundation’s Board of Trustees vote on where they think the proceeds for each year’s Top Hat event should go, said Madhuri P. Kirkham, the foundation’s Assistant Director of Development.

Past events have helped fund the hospital’s Bi-Plane Cath Lab (2010); Computerized Surgical Microscope for Neurosurgery (2009); Digital Echo and Cardiac Picture Archiving (2008); Diabetes Education (2007); Mammography Services (2006); and the Women’s Health Center (2005).
“This year, we are very excited to be raising funds for the Sandy Amos, R.N. Infusion Center. Unfortunately, cancer is a disease that in one way or another has affected almost everyone I know,” said Kirkham.

“I believe the community will greatly benefit from this new center and that our guests at Top Hat will be enthusiastic about supporting such a worthwhile mission," she added.
The infusion center will offer a place for patients undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy to receive their multi-hour long injections in a pleasant environment, according to Kirkham. The center will feature comfortable chairs, natural lighting and movable walls that will allow patients to adjust their levels of privacy.
The evening will start at the Washington West building with an elegant cocktail reception in which guests will enjoy a multitude of exquisite hors d'oeuvres as the evening’s entertainment begins to play.
The night will then move on to a luxury tent set up outside of Washington West in which a delicious three course dinner provided by McCalls of San Francisco will be served.
After guests are finished with their gourmet meals, it will be time to hit the dance floor for dancing until midnight.
