Here are five things you need to know in and around Newark through Mar. 18.

  1. Find out what the Newark Rotary Club is all about by joining them at on Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at Sinodinos Steakhouse. Rotary focuses on Club Service, Community Service, International Service and Vocational Service. 
  2. Meet Congressman Mike Honda this Thursday at a luncheon hosted by the Newark Chamber of Commerce. Reservations must be made by today, so for more information. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Newark Hotel.
  3. Need help with your computer skills? Or know someone who does? Consider taking this free computer help workshop held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Newark Library. to learn how to register.
  4. It’s time to get those vocal chords ready again! Bring the family out to and sing your favorite tunes between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
  5. Head down to the Ardenwood Historic Farm at 3 p.m. on Friday to check out the . The family can even check on eggs and learn about the favorite foods of all the animals.

The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.
