This Week: Final Pet Photo Night with Santa; Spring 2013 Soccer Registration

A list of events going on in Newark this week.

Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:

  • It’s the last weekend before the Christmas holiday, and that means shopping malls throughout the area will operate for longer hours to help last-minute shoppers find the best gifts for their loved ones. NewPark Mall will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24. For more holiday hours at other regional malls, click here.
  • Don’t miss your last chance to win gift cards while holiday shopping at NewPark Mall. All you have to do is check into NewPark Mall’s Santa Set on FourSquare any time between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Thursday to claim your prize. For more information, click here. 
  • Tonight is the last night cats and dogs can visit Santa at NewPark Mall. This year’s final Pet Photo Night will be held from 4 pm. until closing at the NewPark Mall’s Santa Set, located at the lower level of the mall near JC Penney. Click here for more information.
  • Do your children love soccer? Registration for the Newark Soccer Club’s Spring 2013 season is open and anyone who would like to register can do so on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Love @ First Slice, 36601 Newark Blvd. Registration cost is $!30 through Jan. 16.   • Seniors, looking for a fun round or two of BINGO? Senior BINGO will be held at the Newark Senior Center on Thursday starting at 1 p.m. Cost is $7 and participants will have a chance to win cash prizes. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.
