On Tuesday, authorities announced that they believed the 15-year-old girl who grew up in Fremont is dead based on circumstantial evidence that Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said is "adequate facts" during a .

Posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram ranged from prayers for the LaMar family and hope that Sierra is still alive to anger and rage toward the man arrested in connection to her murder.

"RIP Sierra LaMar. If there is any hope that you are still alive, I pray that you return home safe. If not, rest in peace beautiful girl," wrote a Twitter user who goes by smile_its_samm.

Another Twitter whose user name is 1Dbieberwrld wrote, "we need to #findsierra.... there is still hope that she is alive...."
