Growing up by Bettencourt Street, there was always a marshy scent coming from the west.
This morning, however, a few residents have asked: What is that smell? And it's being smelled as far northwest as Jarvis Avenue to the south by NewPark Mall.
Contrary to the usual marshy scent, one resident has described it as a "rotten onion smell." Another said it smelled like garlic.
So here are my questions to all of you who live in Newark.
