Need to Know: Council Applicant Interviews, Art Classes Start, Comedy Night

Here are five things you need to know in and around Newark through Jan. 29.

  1. Twelve individuals who have applied for a vacant seat on the Newark City Council will be . The interviews begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 37101 Newark Blvd. and Newark Patch will cover the event live. to learn more about the candidates.
  2. Try your luck at this week’s Bingo Night at the , 6430 Thornton Ave. Doors open at 4 p.m. and early games will begin at 6 p.m.
  3. The Tuesday and will interview the last of nine candidates applying to be appointed to the Citizen Bond Oversight Committee starting at 6 p.m. The board’s regular meeting will follow that with public session beginning at 7 p.m. Visit the district website to download the full agenda.
  4. Ohlone Community College’s classes on Asian Brush Painting begins Friday at the , 39399 Cherry St. The five-session class held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. costs $109. for more information.
  5. The Newark Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of the Tri-Cities will host Comedy Night 2012 on Friday. The live event will begin at 7 p.m. at the 39900 Balentine Dr. Hors d’oeuvres will be available and comedian Steven Pearl is scheduled to perform. for more information and learn how to buy your tickets.

The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.
