Holiday Concert, Toys for Tots Drive To Be Held Sunday

Admission to the concert performed by the Newark Symphonic Winds is an unwrapped toy for a nonprofit's toy drive.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., The League of Volunteers (LOV) and the Newark Arts Council will present The Newark Symphonic Winds under the direction of Richard Wong, in an afternoon of everyone’s favorite holiday music.

The 40-member Wind Ensemble is a local non profit group composed of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians from the local communities.

It was established to give area musicians the opportunity to develop their skills and expand their musical horizons.

Admission is a new, unwrapped toy.

This is the 19th year that LOV has joined forces with the U.S. Marine Corps to help bring holiday cheer to Tri-City children.  

LOV’s concerts are held at the MacGregor/Bridgepoint School Auditorium, 35753 Cedar Blvd., Newark. There is easy access and parking in the rear, as well as in the front parking lot.

Doors open at 1 p.m. and the concert will begin at 2 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served during intermission.

You don’t want to miss this great way to start the holiday season and to also have the opportunity to thank the Marines who will be there for their service to our country.
