High Wind Advisory Issued for 5 Bay Area Bridges

The California Highway Patrol advises drivers to slow down and avoid overreacting to the sudden gusts on Bay Area bridges Sunday.

Bay City News - A high wind advisory is in effect this morning for the Bay Bridge, Dumbarton Bridge, San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and Carquinez Bridge, the California Highway Patrol said.

The advisory was issued just after midnight, but there are no estimates when it will be lifted, CHP Officer Scott Cakebread said.

Drivers should slow down, be careful when traveling across open areas, and avoid overreacting to the sudden gusts, he said.
