  • Why Go: The third annual outdoor festival features live music, microbreweries, a car show, arts and craft vendors, food and commercial vendors and a kids' zone.

  • Where/When: 48481 Fremont Blvd., Fremont; Saturday at 9 a.m.
  • Why Go: Take part in this self-paced walk and meet people while getting your morning exercise. Don’t forget your hat, water and sunscreen.

  • Where/When: Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church, 32975 Alvarado Niles Rd., Union City; Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Watch taiko performances and martial arts demonstrations and eat Japanese food. Games for children, too. 
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: Newark Junior High School, 6201 Lafayette Ave., Newark; from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday
  • Why Go: Learn about how you can make a difference in the fight against cancer while cheering on those who are fundraising and running relays for a cure.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: St. Anne Catholic Parish, 32223 Cabello St., Union City; 7 p.m. on Saturday
  • Why Go: Watch performances by the youth and young adults of the St. Anne parish. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Proceeds go to the church.
  • Pricing: $10 for pre-sale, $12 at the door. Children under the age of 2 are free.
