Get Out: Rummage Sale, Apple and Arts Festivals, Sept. 11 Tribute

  • Why Go: Support the Kennedy Drama Club by finding treasures at a rummage sale in the elementary school’s parking lot. The sale’s proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new sound system for Kennedy’s cafeteria.
  • Pricing: Dependent on purchases.

  • Where/When: Ardenwood Historic Farm, 34600 Ardenwood Blvd., Fremont; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Why Go: Come join a Renaissance bash where there will be 900 costumed entertainers recreating Shakespearean plays and over 100 shopkeepers and artisans.
  • Pricing: General admission is $17. Seniors pay $13. Ages 4 to 17 pay $8. Ages 4 and younger are free.

  • Where/When: Garin Regional Park, 1320 Garin Ave., Hayward; Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Come taste various types of apples and celebrate the start of apple season at this festival. Learn how to press cider and play old-fashioned games.
  • Pricing: Free to attend. Parking is $5.

  • Where/When: , Alvarado Niles Boulevard and Dyer Street in Union City; Sunday at 1 p.m.
  • Why Go: To commemorate those who died in the Sept. 11 attacks.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: , 5660 Thornton Ave., Newark; Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Watch football games and enjoy a free breakfast and lunch with a three-drink minimum. Must be 21 and over.
