This weekend, travel back in time to San Francisco's 1906 earthquake, learn about college, whack weeds, hear an R&B legend or watch wrestling stars.

Where/When: Ohlone College Newark Center; Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Why Go: Interested in college? Check out informative workshops, information about financial aid, college programs, careers and services, gender gatherings and testimonials from current and past students about their Ohlone experience, as well as entertainment by the Aztec Dancers.

2. STARS OF WRESTLING

Where/When: Alameda County Fairgrounds; Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: Are you a wrestling fanatic? Come out to see your favorite stars including The Insane Boys, Jason Styles, Shane Kody, Super Diablo, Danny Garcia and more.

Pricing: Advance: ringside $20, general $12. At door: ringside $25, general $14. Parking $8.

3. BRASK HOUSE CONCERTS

Where/When: Mission Coffee Roasting Company in Fremont; Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

Why Go: Listen to the sounds of rhythm and blues legend Ron Thompson.

4. 1906 EARTHQUAKE SILENT MOVIE NIGHT

Where/When: The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum Edison Theater in Fremont; Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: This “SF Earthquake Show” will feature the films The Third Alarm (1922), A Trip Down Market Street (1906) showing San Francisco before the earthquake and fire, and The Destruction of San Francisco (1906) showing San Francisco after the fire.

Pricing: $5

Where/When: Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center; Sunday from 1 pm. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Make a positive impact on the environment by working and learning the techniques of removing non-native plants that threaten shoreline diversity. (For ages 12 and up.)

Pricing: Free. Refreshments will be provided.
