Get Out: County Fair, Sing-Along Fun, Bike Fest

Check out opening weekend at the Alameda County Fair, sing along to Disney's Aladdin, rock and roll to the sounds of the past, or attend a bike fest this weekend.

  • Where/When: Alameda County Fairground in Pleasanton; Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Why Go: This is the first weekend of the county fair! Enjoy great fair foods, a petting zoo, carnival rides and games, entertainment and musical acts, pig races, arts and crafts, and more!
  • Pricing: $0-$10; parking $8-$20

ALADDIN MOVIE MUSICAL SING-ALONG

  • Where/When: Smith Center Amphitheatre at Ohlone College in Fremont; Friday at 8:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: See this great Disney classic again on the big screen, and sing along with your favorite characters.
  • Pricing: $10-$12

  • Where/When: 9500 Thornton Ave., Newark; Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon
  • Why Go: Learn about the the salt production, railroads and homes that were located at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge until the 1950s.

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

  • Where/When: Newark Memorial High School; Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Stage 1 Community Theatre presents a musical revue featuring songs from the '50s and '60s.
  • Pricing: $15 general admission; $10 for children 17 and younger

  • Where/When: Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Why Go: The event will include hands-on clinics and demos, conversations with bike experts and enthusiasts, guidance on alternate transportation and bike hikes in the redwoods.
  • Pricing: General admission $10.95-$14.95
