Five Things You Need to Know This Week: March 28 - April 1

Sing karaoke, attend Spanish Bible study or sign your kid up for soccer.

1. Head to on Monday, March 28, from 7 to 11 p.m. for karaoke. There is no cover charge, but a $6 minimum is enforced. Must abide by the dress code and be at least 21 to participate. Karaoke is scheduled weekly on Sundays and Mondays.

2. Attend Bible study in Spanish at the on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m.. The church ministers to Spanish-speaking families in the Tri-City area. Spanish Bible study is scheduled weekly on Wednesdays.

3. The Tri-Cities Employment Training Academy in Newark is offering a this Friday, April 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. The workshop is meant for teens and young adults, ages 17 to 24, and is scheduled the first Friday of each month. The workshop is free to attend.

4. Head to the and sign up your kids for the new Kidz Love Soccer classes that start in April. Classes are on Wednesdays or Saturdays for kids 3 years, 6 months to 6 years old. Classes are non-competitive and recreational and focus on guided discovery, warm-ups, skill demonstrations, thematic skill-building games and more. Times vary depending on the course. The cost is $97 for residents and $107 for non-residents.

5. Sign up early for Session IV of Mad Science, which will focus on chemistry and chemical reactions, at the The course uses hands-on lessons, experiments and interactive demonstrations to teach kids ages 6 to 11 how to perform experiments in a fast-paced classroom. Classes include “Chem in a Flash,” “The Glow Show,” “Sticky Stuff” and “Dry Ice Capades.” Classes are scheduled weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $56 for residents and $62 for non-residents.
