This week, spend some time at the library and do more than just reading. Below are five fun things to do at the , 6300 Civic Terrace Ave.

  1. Attend the Teen Advisory Group meeting on Tuesday, March 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come by for food, fun and an honest chat about improving library services for teens. Don’t forget, attending the event can be counted as community service hours.
  2. Help raise money for Newark Teen Library programs by picking up tasty treats on Wednesday, March 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Teen Advisory Group is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day early with their 2nd Annual Bake Sale. All proceeds go to helping the library put on activities, contests and more for teens.
  3. Stop by the Newark Library on Friday, March 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for toddler art. The monthly art class is meant for children under age 5 with projects like finger painting and chalk drawings. Dress to make a mess, as clothes don’t always stay clean.
  4. Teens can have some fun gaming on Friday, March 18 at the Newark Library. Video games, including Guitar Hero, and board games are available for teens to play from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  5. Create a bird kite for free this Saturday, March 19 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. as part of Spring Crafts. Christie Inocencio will teach children how to build the bird kites, and parents are welcome to join as well.
