Five Things You Need To Know This Week: April 4-8

This week: audition for a musical, attend a meeting and watch a silent film.

  1. Audition for The Wedding Singer at, 39375 Cedar Blvd., this Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. The production is looking for 10 males, ages 16 to 60, and 10 females, ages 16 to 50. Performances will run between July 15 and July 30, 2011.
  2. The Ambassador Meeting will be held this Monday, April 4, from noon to 1 p.m. at, 5544 Thornton Ave. The meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of every month.
  3. Pick up some Tempting Tuesday Treats at the , 6800 Mowry Ave., this Tuesday, April 5, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Seniors can enjoy treats, non-alcoholic beverages and entertainment. The regular event is scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month and is open to all seniors.
  4. Attend a Sustainable Newark meeting this Wednesday, April 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Steakhouse, 36665 Cedar Blvd. At the meeting, participants will explore ways to improve the community’s schools, including how best to manage traffic around schools. Upcoming city elections and potential candidates will be the major topic of the meeting. This free meeting is open to everyone.
  5. Head to Fremont for Buster Keaton’s 1925 silent classic Seven Chances this Friday, April 8. The event will start at 8 p.m. at the Ohlone College Smith Center, 43600 Mission Blvd. Tickets cost $10 to $15, and parking is an additional $2.
