Feeling Tipsy? AAA Helps Keep Super Bowl Fans Safe on Roads

Anyone who needs a ride can call AAA at (800) 222-4357 and request a Tipsy Tow between 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Bay City News - AAA Northern California is offering free rides home to any Bay Area Super Bowl fans who drink too much to drive during today's football game.

AAA will offer its Tipsy Tow program from 6 p.m. this evening through 6 a.m. Monday, according to AAA spokesman Matt Skryja.

"Give AAA a call and we'll make sure you get home safely," Skryja said in a statement.

Anyone needing a ride can call (800) 222-4357 and request a Tipsy Tow, and a tow service will respond to offer a safe ride home and a free tow of up to ten miles.

The service is open to anyone, Skryja said. AAA membership is not required.

On Super Bowl Sunday 2010, the California Highway Patrol reported four fatal crashes involving alcohol, according to the AAA. Another 119 people were reported injured in alcohol related crashes and 454 people were arrested for drunken driving.
