City Hall, Banks, Post Office Closed Monday for Holiday

Coffee shops, retail stores and supermarkets will be open during normal business hours Monday.

Memorial Day weekend is near. While some of you might be traveling, some of you are probably planning to run errands, shop or catch up with friends on your extra day off.

Here's a breakdown of what will be closed and will be open this Monday:

City Hall and the Newark Unified School District will be closed for the holiday. No classes will be held on Monday.

The will also be closed Monday.

Those of you who need to deposit your last paycheck or mail out your bills should make sure you do so by Saturday. The post office and all banks in town are closed on Monday.

Want to grab coffee with a friend on Monday? Don't fret, all of Newark's Starbucks Cafes will be open. The only Starbucks that will not run on its regular schedule will be the one at , which will open at 6 a.m. and close at 8:30 p.m.

Those of you who need groceries may shop at and . Both stores will remain open 24 hours despite the holiday. Raley's will also be open during its normal business hours, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., but its pharmacy will be closed.

If you're looking for those sales, will be open during its regular hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
