CHP Urges Drivers To Slow Down For Slippery Roads

The Bay Area was hit by the first rain storm of the season Tuesday night, causing flooding and slick roads.

By Bay City News

An early October storm hit the Bay Area Tuesday night, making roads hard to handle, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

According to CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano overnight rain led to flooding in Oakland, San Jose, Marin, parts of state Highway 17 near Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

Caggiano said Caltrans has been busy clearing drains to relieve flooding and the CHP has been handling many collisions overnight.

The CHP advises drivers reduce speeds on slick roads and leave more space between cars, especially since a large body of water may suddenly appear on roads.

Don't like it at all. "Change" isn't always for the better.
