Job Opening

SAVE, Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments, is pleased to announce the opening for the Executive Director. The mission of SAVE is to promote alternatives to domestic violence through support services, advocacy and education, and to assist domestic violence victims and their families to end the cycle of violence. Since1976, SAVE has provided a wide range of quality services to victims of domestic violence.

The leadership position of Executive Director will work with the community, staff, the board of directors and volunteers to achieve the vision and mission of the organization. The Executive Director retains oversight of all operations, programs and activities of the organization and is responsible for ensuring that agency policies and practices are consistent with the agency mission and goals. They will build on existing effective partnerships with key allies and stakeholders and will work to develop new partnerships that aid SAVE in achieving its mission. They will ensure ongoing fundraising success, and work to increase SAVE's recognition and relevance in the community. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities to represent SAVE in a variety of forums to cultivate effective relationships and garner resources to meet out mission.

Qualifications:
* A passion for the mission of SAVE and a desire to be a part of the movement to end violence against women
* A minimum of five years of successful leadership as an executive or senior manager in the social work or human services field, or equivalent, translatable experience
* Demonstrated understanding of fundamentals of fundraising from diverse sources for nonprofit organizations and a track record of success in setting fund development strategy and overseeing fund development programs
* Executive level leadership skills, including the ability to think and plan strategically and proven success developing and supporting high performing, diverse work teams
* Strong track record of finance and/or business management, including setting and meeting financial goals, and ensuring quality financial reporting and compliance
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to represent SAVE publically in a variety of forums
* Proven ability to work with people of diverse cultural, religious, educational, vocational, and socio-economic backgrounds and a commitment to provision of culturally appropriate services
