Whole Foods to Open in Fremont

The popular grocery store chain will come equipped with a juice and smoothie bar, smokehouse, bakery and tap room for beer.

Tri-City residents eagerly anticipating the opening of the Whole Foods Market in Fremont won’t have to wait much longer.

The popular high-end grocery store is scheduled to open later this month on Sept. 25 at 3111 Mowry Ave.

If you’re not excited about the opening, then keep reading because referring to the 39,000-square-foot space simply as a “grocery store” doesn’t quite do it justice.

Already known for providing the "finest natural and organic foods available" for its customers, the Fremont Whole Foods location also boasts a variety of unique amenities.

According to a company spokeswoman, the Fremont location will include a fresh juice and smoothie bar, a bakery, a Smokehouse Grill serving up brisket, pulled pork, wings and other meats.  It will also have a coffee bar and the Mission Peak Tap Alley — a tap room that seats 40 people and features seven beers on tap, wine and food.
