W Silicon Valley to Transform into Aloft Hotel

The W hotel in Newark is going through a complete renovation and will re-open February.

The W Silicon Valley hotel in Newark is getting a makeover.

According to the W Silicon Valley’s website, the hotel closed its doors Dec. 17 and will reopen early next month as a swankier Aloft. The announcement was also posted on the W Silicon Valley’s Facebook page.

The Aloft hotel chain is owned by the Starwood, the same company that owns various hotel brands, including W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin and St. Regis.

According to its website, Aloft hotels are described as “a modern, fresh and fun destination.”

A recorded message on the W Silicon Valley’s phone line states that the “fabulous Aloft” will continue to be a full service hotel with a restaurant, bar, in-room dining and a new food and cocktail menu.

Aloft hotel has locations throughout the nation and can be found in other global regions including China, Europe and even Abu Dhabi.

Newark’s Aloft location will become the hotel chain’s fourth California location, according to its website. The closest California Aloft hotels are located in Millbrae and Cupertino. Cupertino’s Aloft hotel is set to open Jan. 24.
