UPS Still Hiring 'Driver Helpers'

Newark and Fremont residents preferred.

by Renata Dowdakin, UPS Human Resources

UPS will be conducting final interviews this Friday and Saturday, December 12th and 13th, for its Driver Helper positions in the Newark and Fremont areas.

“We have already hired more than 30 Driver Helpers in the greater Newark area – and plan to add more folks who would like to help local UPS Drivers with their deliveries over the next 2-3 weeks”, said Karen Beavers, Human Resources Supervisor at the UPS facility in Sunnyvale. “It is perfect timing for college students who are wrapping up their finals this week—for example, students from Ohlone who may want to earn extra money during the winter break.”

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to be considered.  The work is physically demanding and fast-paced—but also rewarding.  “Everyone likes to see UPS pull up to their door during the holidays”, said long-time UPSer and Fremont resident, Mike Coenen.

Job seekers interested in interviewing for these remaining positions can apply at www.upsjobs.com. Individuals specifically interested in being a “Driver Helper” in Newark or Fremont should apply for the position listed in SUNNYVALE.  (UPS customers in the Fremont area are served out of UPS’ Sunnyvale facility). Once the application is completed, the applicant will be prompted to self-schedule an interview from available dates and times.
