This week, we're checking out Newark spas where you can pamper yourself with massages, facials, waxing and more.

  1. : The spa focuses on relieving your stress, anxiety, headaches and neck, shoulder and back pain with an array of massages, including Chinese acupressure and Thai, Swedish, stone and foot massages. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted.
  2. : Looking for a complete spa day? Forever Beauty and Slimming offers basic spa treatments including facials, skin care and waxing along with some extras, like eye contouring and body slimming. An appointment is suggested but not required. The spa is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check their website for extra savings.
  3. : Need a little relaxation? Olay Spa specializes in massages and only massages. Try their Swedish massage, deep tissue acupressure or foot reflexology. All spa rooms are dimly lit, while fragrance and soothing music grant you total relaxation.
  4. : Open seven days a week, Tina’s Nail & Skin Care offers an array of spa services, including manicures, pedicures, waxing and facials. Walk-ins are accepted at Tina’s, but appointments may be made in advance. An added perk? The salon hosts group events like birthday parties and bridal showers. Ask for their special, a pumpkin spice pedicure, when you drop in for a visit.
  5. : Meet Sunita, who runs the cozy shop that specializes in facial hair removal. Sunita is known for giving people nicely shaped eyebrows using a technique called threading. She is also known for other types of facial hair removal. Make sure you book an appointment in advance. Sunita keeps busy, so walk-ins are not accepted. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
