Oil Changes Cost $12.95 to $37.99 at Local Shops

Coupons bring down the cost, but oil quality and services vary and SUVs will cost you more.

This week Patch checked out prices at local auto shops to find out how much they charge for an oil change. Use attached coupons and suggestions to receive additional savings.

  • Now through April 22,  is offering a coupon for a special deal on oil changes. Customers can purchase a standard oil and filter change for $12.95 (plus a $2 waste disposal fee) using the online coupon. With the coupon you will receive up to four quarts, a new filter and a visual inspection. The offer is valid on most cars and light trucks. An additional $2 will be charged for 5w20, 5w30, and 20w50. SUVs, 4WDs and vans are also extra. Vehicles with skid plates cost $5 extra.
  • offers their signature service oil change starting at $37.99 for a standard five-quart car. The service includes up to five quarts of oil, an oil filter, basic inspections and a cleaning. On top of the oil change, Jiffy Lube offers free top-offs on motor oil, and any other vital fluids purchased, up to two quarts between oil changes and up to 3,000 miles. An additional charge of $4 applies to each additional quart for larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs. Jiffy Lube is currently offering a coupon for $10.40 off of their signature oil change service. 
  • Between now and May 7 is offering an oil change for $29.99 using an online coupon. The $29.99 price covers a standard oil change using synthetic-blend oil. For an additional $10, you can upgrade to a Kendall High Mileage oil change or for $49.99 take advantage of the premium oil change service complete with Kendall Full Synthetic oil. The offer applies to most vehicles, includes a new oil filter and works for up to five quarts of oil. Additional quarts cost extra. Don’t forget to ask about a free tire rotation while you are in and check out a complete list of offers on the website.
