Chevron Reopens With "Extra"-Large Store

The Extra Mile convenience store debuts at the Chevron gas station off Jarvis Avenue.

After four months of being closed, on Jarvis Avenue has re-opened – with a new Extra Mile convenience store that is double the size of its former store.

The corner gas station re-opened Tuesday after that began in early December to build the convenience store.

Customers can now walk into the new 1,069-square-foot store and find an array of treats and necessities from soft drinks, chips and candy to automobile oil.

General Manager Tena Oakley said the store will also have hot food, such as hot dogs, in April.

While the gas station is back in operation, construction on the property is not complete.

A that will be located at the rear of the gas station is still under construction. Oakley said construction is expected to be completed by the end of next month.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.
