BookSmart at NewPark Mall Closing
The book and toy store may consolidate inventory at the Morgan Hill location.
BookSmart Books & Toys at NewPark Mall in Newark, California may permanently close soon, unless store owners can work something out with mall management.
“We’re hoping for the best, but we will probably close at the end of the month,” a store employee told Patch. The store’s management is negotiating the terms of the lease with mall management.
The store is not very busy, which led management to make this move. Employees will know within the next few days if the store will remain open. In the meantime, everything in the store is “buy one, get the next item 50% percent off.”
The independent book retailer also has a location in Morgan Hill, which will remain open.
