WAGGIN' TAILS 3-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

DAY OF THE DEAD FESTIVAL

Where/When:
 Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. in Hayward; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate this ancient celebration of the deceased with Folklorico and Aztec dance performances, live music, sugar skull decorating and food.

THE RUNNING DEAD 5K/10K

Where/When: Union City Civic Center, 34009 Alvarado-Niles Rd., in Union City; Sunday starting at 8 a.m.

Why Go: Run for your lives in this unique fun run and walk. Unlike other 5K/10K runs, you’ll have a little more incentive to keep your feet moving fast in this race — there will be a pack of hungry zombies chasing you! The run will also include a 5K stroller division and 5K pet walking division.

Price: $30 for youth ages 17 and under, $35 for adults 18 and up. Add $5 for zombie challenge.
