LOV to Bring the Blues in Weekend Concert

Musician Phil Berkowitz will be performing Sunday.

On Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. – The League of Volunteers – LOVand the Newark Arts Council are bringing Phil Berkowitz, blues harmonica master and vocalist and his band for an afternoon of music of the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s – along with Berkowitz’s own compositions.

Joining Phil on the stage will be William Beatty on piano, Robi Bean on drums, Chris Akin on bass and Derek Irving on guitar.

His band has performed locally at Yoshi’s Jazz Club, Freight and Salvage and Biscuits and Blues to name a few – as well as throughout the United States and  abroad in Germany, Hungary and Mexico.

Their music brings crowds to their feet - especially with Berkowitz’s dynamic vocals and blues-soaked harmonica riffs.

LOV’s concerts are held at the MacGregor/Bridgepoint School Auditorium, 35753 Cedar Blvd., Newark.
