Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:
- Local seniors are encouraged to attened the City of Newark's 13th Annual Health and Resource Faire for Seniors today from 9 a.m. to noon at the Silliman Center. The event will feature a number of vendors and informational booths. Flu vaccines will also be available on site for $5 or free for those on Medicare.
- Join Newark's Relay for Life and Love at First Slice for Family Karaoke Night on Thursday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sing your heart out for a good cause! Twenty-percent of the proceeds will go toward Newark's Relay for Life for cancer research.
- Don't miss Snow Elementary School's Fall Festival this Friday. Held from 2 to 5 p.m., families are invited to bring their children for an afternoon of games, face painting and a haunted house. Children are encouraged to wear costumes, too.
- Ready to have a screaming good time? Then make sure to visit Newark Memorial High School Drama's Haunted House this Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. Come find out what creatures are lurking in hallways. Tickets are $5 at the door and a good fairy service will be available upon request.
- The community is invited to a Free Community Carnival this Saturday. Held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Bay Area Baptist Church, located at 38517 Birch St., the carnival will feature 25 game booths, three jumpers, an indoor maze, a number of competitions, face painting and more.
