Newark Days 2012: Festival Schedule for Newark's 57th Birthday Celebration

The full schedule for Newark's 57th birthday celebration and country jamboree planned for Sept. 20-23.

Get ready for big birthday bash.

Newark will be celebrating its birthday for the 57th consecutive year in late September.

Newark Days, a four-day festival, will be in full swing from Sept. 20 to Sept. 23. This year’s theme will be “Country Jamboree” so get ready to yell out “Yee-Haw!”

Here’s the schedule of events, as provided by the League of Volunteers.

THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 20

  • 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Carnival Preview, MacGregor Playfield (special prices - $1.00 a ride)                     

FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 21

  • 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Carnival, MacGregor Playfield (Ask for $25 pay 1 price ticket)
  • 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. - Community Food & Game Booths, Carnival Grounds
  • 6 p.m. to 6:45 pm - K&K Twirlers, Jamboree Music Stage/Area 10   
  • 6 p.m. - FRIDAY NIGHT HAYSTACK, Area #8 ($600 Haystack, sponsored by Newark Rotary Foundation)
