Newark Couple Wins $15,000 Wedding

The couple, winners of Elite Vendor Group’s “Vow to Love” Wedding Contest, will be married Jan. 31 at Fremont’s Palmdale Estates.

A Newark couple will have an extra special wedding this month, thanks to a Bay Area wedding planning organization.

Longtime lovebirds Elizabeth Jardine and Patrick Pereira recently won a big bank wedding valued at over $15,000 in the Elite Vendor Group’s “Vow to Love” Wedding Contest.

The two have been engaged since 1996 but have never had the financial means to hold a proper wedding due to putting their children first, according to the Elite Vendor Group.

“We both knew that we were soul mates from first sight. Almost seventeen years later, we believe winning the ‘Vow to Love Wedding Contest’ was a sign from above that it's time for us to have Our Special Day,” the couple said in a statement.

Both Jardine and Pereira attended Newark Memorial High School. Pereira said he fell head over heels for Jardine when he saw her deliver lunch to her dad at work.

The couple now have three children, all of whom will be a part of their wedding party.

Daughter Ashley, 22, will serve as the maid of honor while sons Kyle, 18, and Jacob, 15, will serve as groomsmen.

More than a dozen wedding companies, all part of the Elite Vendor Group’s network, are providing services for the lucky couple, from hair and makeup companies Hair Design by Gigi and Makeup By Kristen to confectioners Cakepop Delight and Jen’s Cakes.

The couple’s much-anticipated wedding will be held Jan. 31 at Fremont’s Palmdale Estates, a picturesque venue featuring two English mansions, palm trees, gardens and a lake area with fountains and bridges.
