From Newark Police
The City of Newark requires property owners to possess a permit for burglar type alarms.
These permits ensure the police department has current information about your home or business, and current emergency contact information if we need to reach someone after hours regarding an alarm activation.
This contact information is also important in the event a faulty alarm continually activates so the responsible person for the alarm does not incur staggering “false alarm” fees.
In addition if contact information changes please update that through the application process and with your alarm company provider if your alarm is monitored.
We suggest contacting your alarm company provider and verifying they have current information to quickly and efficiently notify you regarding alarm activation.
