More than 500 toys were given to families in the Tri City Area during the 2013 holiday season, thanks to the League of Volunteers and the United Motorcycle Clubs of Alameda County. Santa rode on a Harley from Hayward to Newark on Dec. 14, flanked by more than 300 motorcycle riders. The event was sponsored by UMCoAC, WalMart, Chili’s, El Torito’s of San Leandro, Cycle Gear, Home Depot, and others. More than 700 people attended the event, which was twice as many as in 2012.
