More like 400 miles, truth be told. But I was just covering for your editor, who was out of town. Right now, Patch is in transition mode, and I assure you this is temporary. We do have great plans, and hyper local will be front and center. Can't wait to share. Until then, hang tight!

I agree with Frank. Patch has gone way down hill for the past several weeks. Someone else is trying to get a newspaper for this area started, and I'm sure he can do a lot better job than what we have seen on Patch for several weeks.

The street was blocked just beyond Colbert. We were able to turn there to get around the blockaded area. I assume it is all clear now and 2:10 p.m.

A woman and her son moved in with her mother. The mother disapproved of the marijuana grow and refinery operation that her grandson was running in the backyard, and did not like the fact that her daughter and grandson were bringing drugs into her house and using them on her property. She called the police twice in one day: the first following an altercation; the second after her daughter and grandson again used drugs in her yard. During the second call, the police found the illegal drug factory, confiscated the drugs, equipment, and the illegal weapons and made arrangements to arrest the grandson. The woman was very angry with her mother for being "mean" to the grandson by calling the police over the illegal drug use and drug factory. She then lay in wait with a sledgehammer, and killed her mother when her mother went to use the restroom. The woman sounds like she has a character disorder and might be intellectually challenged.
