Mulberry Eye Sore

During my hunt for Neighborhoods which matched the Stereotypical "Ghetto" in Newark recently, I came across this Eye Sore located on Mulberry.

As you can see, it's seen better days and even though it's got that "Abandoned" feel to it, day after day, year after year it continues to stand Battered & Bruised, a safe haven for drug addicts across town.

Newark's had it's share of Drug Den's and Meth Houses, in fact in recent years and just a few blocks down from Mulberry several Houses have been raided for such.

Still, when I think of a Ghetto, this is what I imagine. Mulberry itself isn't a bad area. However being adjacent to a major thoroughfare such as Thornton certainly hasn't helped it much with all the Sketchy people hanging around.

Whether I go by this House during the day or night, during the weekday or weekend there's always Sketchy foot traffic either in front of it or near it.

I'm reminded, this House was once beautiful and back in the 1960's my Grandparents briefly called it home.

That was a lifetime ago and in 2013 when it's obviously so broken down and ruined why is it allowed to stay erect for all the world to see?
