Photo: Put a Fork In It — This Steakhouse is Done

The former Cattlemen's restaurant is no longer standing at the corner of Jarvis Avenue and Newark Boulevard.

Patch reader Kathy Palazzolo shared the photo above, showing the demolition of the steakhouse, which closed about four years ago.

The City Council approved the demolition of Cattlemen's in July after property owners requested the council approved to be built in the restaurant's place.

The proposal by Imwalle Properties includes plans to build a 4,360-square-foot building that would provide a Starbucks drive-through service and a separate 6,640-square-foot building for an AutoZone, a retail auto parts store, according to Community Development Director Terrence Grindall.

The Starbucks will be a relocation of the located near Baskin Robbins in the Newark Marketplace Plaza.
