Courtyard Marriott To Unveil New Look Mid-November

The hotel is completing $820,000 in renovations to modernize its facilities.

Silicon Valley’s mega-renovation project is nearing completion, a project that will feature a brand new check-in area, bistro and sitting area.

The 181-room property will be unveiled sometime in mid-November, according to Courtyard and Residence Inn property coordinator, Rex Maxion.

The property features a two-story atrium lobby, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center, and the main lobby was completely redesigned and will feature a more modern and upscale look.

One of the largest transformations is of the Courtyard Café into The Bistro, which will feature contemporary café seating and will be the main eatery. Starbucks will provide the hotel's espressos and cafes.

Other newer features include: a wider business area with more computers; a larger area for The Market, a small store in the lobby where guests can buy food, drinks and fresh sandwiches; a new touch-screen display called the “GoBoard” that displays local weather, dining, an area map, and news briefs from USA Today; and a front desk area with pedestals instead of the traditional long front desk.

There is an abundance of outlets for the busy workaholics to plug in their laptops and free WiFi throughout the property.

Renovations for the Courtyard cost about $820,000 and is the larger of two major renovation projects by the two sister Marriott properties, Maxion said. The underwent a $306,000 lobby renovation that has already been completed.

A ribbon cutting of The Bistro is scheduled for Dec. 13, along with a Holiday Mixer, according to a weekly newsletter issued by Newark's Chamber of Commerce.
